- The Victorian Infectious disease reference laboratory (VIDRL) is a leading Australian Infectious disease reference laboratory located at the Peter Doherty Institute for infection and Immunity. This role is to work primarily as part of the specimen reception team, which is responsible for receiving processing and registering all clinical samples.

**Your new role**:

- Participate in the diagnostic procedures carried out in the Bacteriology Laboratory including processing of specimens, pre-analytical treatment of samples, maintaining laboratory control isolates, performing media susceptibly testing QC, and performing serological and molecular based tests.
- Participate in all housekeeping laboratory duties as instructed by a senior Scientist.

**About you**:

- You hold a diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
- You have a sound understanding of quality control protocols and NATA requirements.
- You demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
