**The Opportunity - Electrical Engineering Technician**

The purpose of this role is commissioning of automated and manually operated container handling straddle carriers. Responsible for testing functionality of electrical equipment, automation, hydraulics, safety features etc.

What you will be doing:

- Carry out electrical commissioning tests and perform function testing
- Reporting of quality issues to factory Quality management and carry out rectifications
- Mentor local technicians in relation to the commissioning procedures and fault finding
- Carry out software modifications and liaise with the factory Software & Electrical design engineers to ensure a timely hand over of commissioned equipment
- Coordinate actions with other stakeholders at the site within the approved time schedule
- Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and emergency corrective repairs on assorted Port Equipment
- Carry out PM servicing as required in compliance with PM schedules provided
- Perform isolations and isolations procedures to support other colleagues work (e.g. mechanical)
- Ensure all repair and service work is carried out in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company OHS&E regulations.

**Technical Requirements**:
Mandatory Requirements:

- Relevant qualification and 2 years’ relevant experience or 3 years relevant work experience
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical (incl. D&A screening)
- Hold an unrestricted Drivers Licence (car)
- Ability to work at height on assorted mobile equipment
- Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship experience: specializing in fault finding, repairs and PM service on heavy plant/equipment (e.g. Cranes, Earthmoving Equipment, Container Handling Equipment, Mining equipment etc)
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electronics and/or diesel engines

Desirable:

- Forklift License
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence
- Dogging / Rigging Licence(s)
- Working at Heights Training
