**About your new team**
This role forms part of the larger Quality division and will report to the EMC Systems Manager. The role will be based in an office and laboratory environment at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank.
**About your new role**
The **EMC Technician** role is responsible for EMC testing military vehicles, weapons and assemblies under the technical supervision of the EMC Engineering team. This role works as part of a small team at the Rheinmetall Defence Australia (RDA) state of the art Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Chamber.
The role also supports the processes of managing calibrated tooling and equipment, within RDA’s Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Brisbane. Utilising technical expertise to assist and further develop the operation of a metrology and dimensional management system, and assisting with SME input into testing and measurement infrastructure across the business.
This role will be part of a collaborative team effort to ensure RDA’s products are compliant to defined and customers’ EMC, Radhaz, radio, and related E3 specifications. It will require hands on testing work in an EMC chamber and related analysis and documentation outputs and Performing EMC testing including Radiated Emissions and Immunity, Radhaz, and Radio Performance tests.

- **EMC Technician**, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Perform EMC testing including Radiated Emissions and Immunity, Radhaz, and Radio Performance tests ;
- Administrative duties related to EMC and Calibration ;
- Conduct EMC Lab maintenance and calibration activities ;
- Adding expertise as they relate to calibrated tooling, metrology, equipment planning and measurement discussions
- Participate in the EMC engineering and assurance review processes which could include FMEA, QA, presentations, research, developing tests, etc. ;
- Provide support services to enable effective decision making and delivery of sound EMC testing outcomes ;
- Troubleshooting technical issues related to calibrated tooling, and test and measurement equipment ;
- Assisting to develop testing procedures in accordance with Rheinmetall and OEM specifications ;
- Prepare reports around instrument calibration performance, and EMC system performance, providing support in relation to the EMC testing management system ;
- Providing user training, support, advice and feedback for all measuring equipment calibration activities across RDA ; and
- Tests and calibrates analytical instruments, equipment and related components, which may be extremely delicate and sensitive, making adjustments and resolves new and unusual problems.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Relevant technical qualification (degree or diploma);
- Minimum of 5 years in a testing or calibration environment;
- Experience in electrical testing and calibration;
- Experience working in an ISO:17025 laboratory
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in NATA audits (desirable);
- Experience in metrology calibration (desirable)
- Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required; and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
