Fixed term (12 months)/Part-Time (32 hours per week).
**Remuneration**: Will be based on your qualifications and/or years of experience. Ranging from $70.20 - $103.65 per hour, plus superannuation, leave loading and allowances
**THE ROLE**:
The Research Fellow will develop clinical research projects, prepare publications, and participate in local/regional Cancer research committees.
Under the supervision of a clinical mentor, the Research Fellow or the Registrar will participate in on-call rosters, and other haematology services as required by the Director of Haematology.
The role is intended for a Haematologist in their first Post-Fellowship year, seeking further research experience and a transitional role to unsupervised consultant practice.
**DUTIES**:
Supervision of Junior Medical and Nursing staff.
Involvement in Haematology Laboratory and Clinical Management Team.
Maintenance of clear, precise and accurate medical records including coding for DRGs.
Participate in the development of innovative programs in both the delivery of care and clinical training.
Attendance at Outreach Clinics in Greater Newcastle and in country centres as designated by the hospital (such as Tamworth or Taree).
**ABOUT YOU**:
A primary medical degree registrable with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Eligibility for Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the Enterprise Agreement of the Health Insurance Act 1973.
Eligibility for Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the Enterprise Agreement or the Health Insurance Act 1973.
Clinical inpatient, outpatient and laboratory experience in Haematology.
Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work proficiently unsupervised and as a member of a multidisciplinary team during periods of high demand and activity in an organised manner.
