**The Organisation**
- The health district provides health services for 400,000 people. Operating eight hospital sites and providing community health services from approximately 58 locations across the region.
- You will work in the major referral and teaching hospital in the district with a bed base of more than 500 and the capacity to treat specialist and complex cases. The hospital provides Level 5 Maternity and Gynaecology Services and Level 4 Special Care Nursery Services. Approximately 2,800 babies are born within the hospital annually and services include antenatal services, postnatal care, neonatal services, and gynaecology services including acute inpatient services, elective gynaecology, colposcopy and an early pregnancy assessment service.
- The Hospital is closely affiliated with the University of Wollongong and the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute.

**The Job**
- As an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultant, you will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Service
- You will be responsible for the provision of specialist services to emergency patients, inpatients and outpatients, and your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality O&G services are available throughout the health district
- You will be supported by an enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team and a skilled junior medical officer cohort
- You'll have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills through guiding and mentoring junior medical staff
- You will actively participate in research activities in the department
- You will participate in a shared Consultant on-call roster 1 weekend in 8 and 1 overnight on-call every fortnight

- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent
