Melbourne, Australia Careers in Demand Full time

Looking for a change
- Customer focussed service role
- Acquire new skills with an industry leader

Our client is looking for a customer focused self-starter to join their team to undertake the testing, servicing and maintenance of one of their major customer's Fire Protection systems at Melbourne Airport.

**The Company**
This Australian owned, independent company has built a reputation for quality workmanship through an uncompromising attention to detail and has firmly established itself as one of the leading essential safety measure installation and maintenance companies operating in Victoria.

In joining this company, you would be part of a team dedicated to providing the most competent and best customer service in the fire protection industry.

**The Role**
This role is all about contributing to the overall safety of a large community of people who work and travel through this major Melbourne transport hub.

For a person with the right customer focus and cultural fit, the company is prepared to invest in someone without experience, enabling them to acquire new skills. Someone with previous experience in the fire industry and the right personal attributes would also be well regarded. This business has a fresh approach and an uncompromising determination to get the right people for one of the best teams in the industry.

Once appropriately trained, you will be responsible for the regular inspection, testing, minor maintenance, troubleshooting and compliance auditing of fire protection systems such as:

- Fire Panels
- Evacuation Systems
- Fire Extinguishers

**Requirements**:
Previous experience in customer facing roles in sales, retail or service-related industries like security could easily have a fit for this role, providing you with a unique opportunity to move into another occupation and acquire additional skills.

To be successful in this role you would also need the following demonstrated attributes:

- You will have a strong focus on customer service and a willingness to multi-skill and learn new aspects of fire protection.
- Strong communications skills with customers and co-workers
- Attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A mechanical or technical aptitude

This active role also requires someone who is fit, agile and has no issues with climbing ladders for ceiling inspections as required.

In the selection process, you will also be required to consent to a Airport ASIC Security check.

**Benefits**
The salary for this full-time role is negotiable, dependent on qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include work uniforms and phone.

**Apply**
If this sounds interesting, then please provide your CV **and** a covering letter. Please ensure that you write the following reference number as it appears exactly on the top left-hand corner of your cover letter: BlueTester Feb2024
