**About the Role**

The Manager, 2nd Line Control Testing has responsibility for the implementation and ongoing execution of 2nd Line of Defence (LoD) Control Assurance, independently assessing and raising findings of the 1st Line, the operating effectiveness of key controls owned by the 1st Line and acting as a Competence Centre with regard to controls and control testing, (proactively) advising the 1st and 2nd LoD on control related themes.

**Top Role Accountabilities**:

- Implementing the Wholesale Rural & Retail (WRR) Operational Risk Control (ORC) 2nd Line Control Assurance Framework as part of the Risk Control Framework (RCF) Program.
- Working together with multiple stakeholders both in 1st and 2nd LoD to determine the design effectiveness of key controls;
- Independent of the 1st Line, assessing operating effectiveness of the key controls and where required raising findings in relation to the test activity;
- Acting as the local centre of competence with regard to controls and control testing, (proactively) advising the 1st and 2nd LoD on control related themes.
- Working with the Head of Operational Risk AU & NZ and Head of WRR 2nd Line Testing to develop and implement the Annual 2nd Line Control Assurance Plan
- Educate and coach the 1st Line Control Owners and other stakeholders on the effective design and execution of Control Self-Assessment.
- Assisting in the completion of relevant/required 2nd Line reports to Boards, Committees, Group, Management and Business Units as required.

**To be successful in the role, you will have**:

- 5 - 10 year relevant experience (e.g. control testing, internal audit, process/ risk management)
- Experience in Audit and/or with control testing (including for regulatory frameworks)
- An understanding of Operational Risk Management within the financial services industry and related regulatory standards.
- Excellent knowledge of control testing and control frameworks (i.e. Internal Audit, SOX, Volcker, 2nd Line Control testing or similar)
- Relevant experience in the financial industry or consultancy
- Exceptional proven stakeholder management skills
