**The Role**
You will have a unique opportunity to join the Defence Research, Innovation and Collaboration Security (DRICS) Team as a Program Implementation, Policy and Reporting Officer. You will be part of a small team to manage, support, monitor, and report on the operation of the DRICS policy throughout the whole of Defence. Reporting to an Assistant Director, DRICS Program, you will be broadly responsible for:

- Performing, coordinating and administering functions and liaison across the program, guiding the development and delivery of program initiatives and contributing to the DRICS reporting responsibilities;
- Developing and delivering DRICS analysis, assessments, metrics and reports;
- Developing, reviewing and revising various briefing material, correspondence and reports on relevant policy implementation, governance or legislative matters and initiatives relevant to the DRICS directorate;
- Planning, facilitating, managing and recommending approaches for program analysis, treatments and controls,
- Using your expertise to improve management practices and to identify common and strategic risks and issues;
- Working closely with the team to ensure work activity delivery is on time and on budget;
- Providing advice to your Assistant Director as required regarding content, timing and strategy.

You will have a unique opportunity to work within the Defence Research, Innovation and Collaboration Security (DRICS) Program’s Data Assurance, Analysis, Risk & Trace (DAART) team as the Data Assurance Officer or Risk Analyst. You will analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources, scrutinise developments to identify risks, issues, trends and patterns to develop and provide assessments to key stakeholders to reduce uncertainty in their decision making.

Reporting to an Assistant Director, DRICS Program, you will be broadly responsible for:

- Undertaking data entry, assurance, analysis and security risk management activities in accordance with the DRICS Principle and Control, and prepare reports and correspondence in relation to these assurance activities.
- Maintaining data assurance and management support systems and processes.
- Understanding the security risk context within the Defence environment to be able to identify, research and analyse complex security risk issues, and provide recommendations and advice to stakeholders.
- Assisting in the updating and management of DRICS-related documents, information and records.
- Building and sustaining productive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to achieve security risk management outcomes in accordance with the DRICS Program objectives.
- Engaging and communicating across a wide range of stakeholders by responding to enquiries, and performing sensitive security risk management activities that require problem solving and issue management.

**About our Team**
The DRICS team is in DSTG’s Science Strategic Planning and Engagement Division and is responsible for ensuring that our security protections and those applied by our collaborators are contemporary and aligned with Defence’s security policies. As Defence collaborations are evolving and moving into more sensitive and nationally classified areas, the DRICS team’s role is to ensure that Defence’s technology and capability edge is not compromised.

DRICS is a small team seeking to recruit to a number of vacancies. To be successful in this role you will be highly motivated and professional, and have the ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders to build and sustain key working relationships. Applicants will have excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in program management, administration and coordination, government protective security; security risk and/or security intelligence would be an advantage. Aptitude, enthusiasm and the right approach to working in a security environment is also important.

You may be occasionally required to travel interstate in support of the program.

Security Clearance: Secret (NV1) and TSPV. Prior to commencement successful applicants will be required to have or obtain a BASELINE security clearance. They will then be required to undertake the security clearance process to achieve either an NV1 security clearance or TSPV security clearance for one of the positions.
