Intake Assessment Officer

Due to internal promotion, we have a vacancy for an Intake and Assessment Officer at the Indooroopilly headspace. This is a contract role role until end of Oct 2023, working four days per week (flexibility which four).

This is a key role in the team as you’ll be the first contact point for clients accessing our centre. You’ll build professional and positive rapport with a wide range of clients, significant others and external mental health providers and community organisations. You will:

- Screen and provide intake, assessment and referral for clients
- Conduct risk assessments, including suicide and violence risks, and develop action plans that mitigate these risks
- Facilitate and monitor the integration and coordination of work with clients, including active participation on case review meetings
- Deliver brief therapeutic interventions, counselling services, and treatment planning
- Be a key focal point developing and maintain relationships with organisations and services within the community

No two days will be the same in this dynamic and varied role. With a support and positive team around you, you will see the results of your work each day.

**Does this sound like you?**
- Tertiary level qualifications in health, behavioural/social sciences, community services, or a related discipline and/or extensive experience in the mental health sector
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment, coordinating client change plans
- Experience in the mental health sector
- Knowledge and understanding of mental health, including related evidence-based interventions and best practice
- Open, self-reflective, curious, team orientated person
