**The Team**

You will join a high performing team of leaders across the country that facilitates the readiness of the agency and the proper conduct of the election, upholding the Electoral Integrity Framework. You will be based out of our Victorian State Office in the Melbourne Central Business District but manage and support a diverse and geographically dispersed network, working closely with our National Office and the other States and Territories.

**The Opportunity**

We are looking for a strong leader who is agile, self-motivated, and results-driven to manage state election planning, delivery, and evaluation.

You will be responsible for focusing strategically on the agency objectives to facilitate the adoption of best practice across the broader leadership network, while also managing your team in operational planning, election delivery and providing public services and support to enhance both businesses as usual and election planning activities.

Prior to and during election time you will also be responsible for assisting with the mobilisation of over 80,000 temporary election workforce staff, including using your excellent leadership skills to support your staff to manage the significant number of employees in this surge workforce.

You will contribute to the development of team objectives for short-term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives for the state, including setting priorities, maintaining team cohesion, and ensuring quality of outputs. Suitable applicants may be considered for future opportunities with the AEC in Victoria. Roles available will be dependent on the changing business needs and requirements of the AEC. Future opportunities may be filled on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis.

To excel you’ll have:

- Experience in adhering to key principles and values, always demonstrating integrity in upholding ethics and values to support the AEC’s strategic direction and best practices.
- Strong personal judgement when undertaking objectives, demonstrated ability to conduct critical analysis and utilise available information to implement workable solutions; identifying broader interconnectedness across the agency to manage risks.
- Ability to quickly adapt, recognise the need to adjust methodology, communication, and interpersonal styles with stakeholders to suit changing situations.
- Ability to rapidly learn new tasks and demonstrate understanding of newly presented information encouraging and role modelling an organisational learning approach while working under own direction to deliver results.
- Demonstrated ability to examine own performance and develop strategies needed to achieve career goals with a strong commitment to tackling demanding goals and putting in longer hours, working collaboratively to achieve a nationally led, consistent approach to delivery.
