- $74,580 per annum + 11% superannuation (VPS Grade 3.1 position)
- Most Associate positions are full time and ongoing, however there may be some full time, fixed-term roles where appropriate
- Various associate positions in the Criminal, Common Law, and Commercial Divisions of the County Court of Victoria may be available from June 2024 through to October 2024
**About us**
The County Court of Victoria is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The Court's vision is to be a leader in court excellence, delivering the highest standard of justice to the community and inspiring public confidence in the rule of law.
**About the role**
The Court is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) positions as Associates to Judges across all three Divisions of the Court. Through the EOI process, the Court is looking to fill future vacancies that may arise from June 2024 to October 2024.
As a Judge's Associate you will have an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Court and develop an understanding of court processes and procedures. Judges' Associates liaise extensively with the legal profession and observe the work of advocates and the judiciary. The role will enable you to gain a thorough working knowledge of legal principles and legislation in a dynamic and sensitive environment. As a Judge's Associate you will be part of a dedicated team charged with the responsibility of supporting a Judge in chambers and in court.
**About you**
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- A well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- the ability to exercise sound judgment
- good organisational and problem solving skills
- excellent computer literacy and administration experience
- a valid Australian State or Territory driver licence
- A law degree and/or experience in legal practice or an associated field is highly desirable
