About This Opportunity

Queensland Digital Health Centre (QDHeC) is seeking a motivated and collaborative Research Data Analyst to assist in the operation of the research program of the centre. This research program has multiple research projects running concurrently using a variety of data sources largely centred around secondary data analysis using linked administrative data with some primary data (chart abstraction, randomized control data etc).

The Research Data Analyst, working collaboratively with other members of the team, will be involved in most aspects of the various projects including supporting the coordination of the overall project management including analysis activities, governance (HREC, data access procurement), budgeting, and scientific writing.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Conduct statistical analyses of data independently and/or in collaboration with team member(s) or investigators; this including the preparation and review of analytic output.- Participate in the development of study design and analytical plans (with the potential to lead the drafting of various aspects) for research protocols.-
- Engage actively with the research team to provide advice on feasibility, design, methodology, availability of Australian and other data and interpretation of findings.- Contribute to writing/preparing/presenting abstracts, poster presentations, peer-reviewed publications and other relevant deliverables.- Maintain expertise in the availability and use/access of administrative and other health data.- Develop and maintain documentation and reporting frameworks for the program associated with all research project components including analytic plans, meeting notes and supporting documentation including meta data associated with stat sources.

This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 12 months.

At HEW level 6, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $84,871 - $91,158 plus super of 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $99,300 - $106,655 per annum.

About You- Qualification in biostatistics, statistics, health sciences, epidemiology, or related field, and an understanding of analytic techniques.- Experience (minimum of three years) using analytic software such as R or SAS (including SQL, macros) or other data analytics tools.-
- Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently within interdisciplinary teams including working with external partners.- Self-motivated, independent work ethic including strong time management skills, ability to prioritize responsibilities and work accurately and effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.- Experience in drafting of peer-reviewed academic manuscripts arising from the use of large clinical datasets and health administrative data would be beneficial
