About the role
The Injury Prevention and Management Advisor role is a combination of two roles. Half of this role will be aimed at injury prevention and will focus on for supporting manual handling training support, incident investigation support, and the implementation of injury prevention strategies. The other half of this role is responsible for assisting the organisation to achieve successful return to work outcomes for injured employees and minimising compensation liability.
What you bring
Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy, Registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Desired - Certificate IV Rehabilitation Management or successful completion of “Rehabilitation case management training: virtual workshop” as a minimum
Demonstrated good understanding of Work, Health & Safety Act and Regulations 2011, The Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 and other legislation related to the role
Demonstrated experience in injury management including the submission and management of workers compensation claims and the successful management of non-compensable claims
Demonstrated ability to advise and support education programs on the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries including safe work practices, manual handling techniques, office injury prevention and ergonomic workplace assessments
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to deliver positive outcomes, while maintaining productive relationships with stakeholders
Sound written and oral communication skills, with the capacity to communicate clearly, confidently and succinctly
