GPI’s Australian division (Trimec Industries Pty Ltd.) is a small team of highly skilled and engaged people who operate from a facility in the Sutherland Shire, manufacturing the FLOMEC brand of flowmeters, and operating as a centre for design and manufacturing expertise in positive displacement flowmeters for the broader GPI Group.

We specialize in providing high-quality flow measurement solutions for a wide range of industries. With years of experience and a commitment to innovation, we have become a trusted name in the field of flow measurement.

We have seen significant growth in our Australian made flowmeter products, and we see significant opportunities for greater growth in our future. We are currently working on numerous new product and vertical integration initiatives. We are looking for an experienced and motivated full-time Engineering Technician to join our team and play a critical support role for our existing team of experienced engineers.This person will leverage their existing professional experience in CAD modelling, drafting, prototyping, and building/commissioning production equipment to ensure our engineering team can execute on the opportunities in front of us.

The position in based in Caringbah, Sydney.

The offered remuneration $70,000 - $85,000pa + super depends on your experience and skills.

**Main Duties**:

- Assist in the design of new products under the direction/supervision of Mechanical EngineersWork from specifications and conceptual designs provided by Senior Engineers to develop CAD models of parts and assemblies for the new product.

Source components for prototype designs
Build and test prototypes, analyse test data for presentation to senior engineers.
Conduct pre-production batch assembly of new products, providing feedback to senior engineers and the manufacturing department.
- Produce product documentation for new and existing products, incl; manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, and assembly drawings.
- Assist in the design of assembly or testing equipment under the direction/supervision of Mechanical Engineers.Work from specifications or conceptual designs provided by Senior Engineers to develop CAD models of a part or sub-system of a piece of equipment/plant.

Referring to equipment designs provided by Senior Engineers, source required components for construction of the equipment.
Build, install, and commission new production equipment.
Troubleshoot new equipment and provide feedback/recommendations.
- Conduct laboratory testing of new or existing designs and analyse data to identify opportunities for improvements.
- Inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production equipment.Inspect and/or troubleshoot production equipment/plant

Supervise repairs and maintenance of machines and equipment by internal or external tradespeople.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- CAD modelling and drafting of plans in Autodesk Inventor
- Conducting tests or analysis as directed by Senior Engineers.
- Plan, produce, source, and assemble mechanical and electronic parts for product and equipment.
- Operate the company’s plastic printer.
- Recommending cost effective changes/improvements to designs of products or equipment.
- Ensuring finished work is in conformance with specifications and the requirements of relevant Australian and International Standards.

**Essential Skills Criteria**:

- Minimum a diploma of engineering or equivalent qualification
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or design environment is required.
- Experience with manufacturing precision products/components will be valuable; such as flowmeters, pressure/temperature instruments, positive displacement pumps.
- Proven hands-on experience in building/testing of prototypes or custom machinery is essential, with skills in hand tools, power tools, and simple machine tools.
- experience with interpretation of various technical drawings including mechanical, electrical, and general arrangement drawings.
- experience 3D modelling of mechanical parts such as castings and injection mouldings in Autodesk Inventor
- Demonstrated experience with plastic printers, manual mill/lathe will be valuable.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
