This is a dynamic opportunity to join Bushfire and Forest Services to contribute to the delivery of the on-ground management of newly opened camping areas established as part of the Camping on Crown Water Frontages program.
The role will ensure that sites are safe and that environmental and cultural values are appropriately managed and protected. This will include maintaining site access infrastructure, signage, and any remediation works to facilitate camping at designated areas that minimise the potential impact on adjacent landholders.

**Specific functions of the position include**:

- Undertaking of on ground management of newly opened camping areas which were established as part of the Camping on Crown Water Frontages program
- Maintain site access infrastructure, signage, and any remediation works to facilitate camping at designated area.
- Liaise with Licencees and camping users on permitted activities and camping etiquette on crown land and promote safe camping and mínimal impact recreation

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in environmental science/natural resource management or an equivalent qualification or experience is desirable
- Current Victorian manual driver's licence is mandatory
- Nationally accredited 4WD competency is desirable but not mandatory
- First Aid Level 2 is preferable but not mandatory.

This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2024.The work location for this position is flexible within the Grampians and Barwon South West Regions.
