**SUMMARY**:
**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES**:

- Preparation of Exploitation Application and Prefeasibility chapter input, project studies, reports, forecasts, special engineering/environmental reports and plant data book.
- Manages the flow of information required from third parties to assure the timely progress of the environmental work.
- Leads coordination of environmental requirements into study deliverables.
- Provides day to day assistance to the Area Project Engineers on the Study.
- Ensures that the environmental requirements and commitments are understood and incorporated into the study deliverables.
- Performs and manages the work in accordance with study requirements.
- Prepares project procedures for engineering and environmental, as required.
- When assigned, directs engineering and environmental activities in preparation of project proposals, including estimates for engineering staffing, quantities, scope reviews, schedules and coordination with Business Development and other functional groups.
- Reviews project documents generated either by the team or engaged consultants and scientists
- Resolves client or consultant questions on environmental aspects or project processes.
- Visits jobsite or consultants as required for the exchange of information.
- Reviews project progress for environmental and all associated approvals against approved schedules and evaluates changes
- Participates in Technical Risk Assessments
- Prepares and reviews design documentation for compliance with the project Quality Assurance plan and procedures.
- Communicates complex technical or project issues and recommends solutions to client, project and functional management as directed and as appropriate.
- Champions the creation of a project work environment, supported by leadership on the project/program, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction..

**JOB KNOWLEDGE**:

- Advanced knowledge in a field of science, environmental engineering, or related discipline, normally acquired through a recognized degree from an accredited college or university and/or environmental-related certifications from national/international accrediting organizations/associations.
- Bachelor of Science degree in life sciences (e.g., biology, ecology, forestry) or physical sciences (e.g., geology, meteorology), or environmental engineering from an accredited college or university.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental sciences/engineering systems, principles, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of national and international environmental laws/regulations and regulatory/resource agencies’ permitting processes and responsibilities, industry standards for environmental compliance, and best management practices for minimizing potential environmental impacts during project execution.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction systems, methods, and work processes.
- Knowledge of construction planning, estimating, procedures, and execution.
- Proficiency in managing technical evaluations/studies and supervising technical staff.
- Experience in managing and/or providing technical oversight of environmental subcontractors or consultants.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Prior practical work experience in office settings (e.g., managing environmental programs, budgets and staff) and field environments (e.g., construction execution and/or operating facilities) performing the responsibilities listed above.
