**About the role**

WesTrac has an exciting opportunity for a Powertrain Planner to join our Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) at our Tomago Branch.

Our Component Rebuild Centre is a world class purpose built facility responsible for the salvage and overhaul of Engine and Powertrain components for Caterpillar Mining Equipment. With the workshop designated into two specialised component streams - Engines and Powertrains, the Powertrains Planner will be supporting the Powertrains team to deliver high quality components on time through effective planning and forecasting.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Powertrain Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed and accurate execution plans to maximise available resources to ensure all components are rebuilt and delivered in line with the required maintenance strategy and agreed timelines.

Utilising available data and planning tools, analysis and tracking of scheduled workloads, the Planner is responsible for the optimisation of available resources to ensure velocity is sustained through the process. Additionally, the Powertrain Planner is the main point of contact of communication regarding component scheduling, and compliance to plan whereby they will be ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed of progress and communicating any changes to plan or early notification of a component at risk of delivery in full on time (DIFOT).

**Key Responsibilities**
- Responsible for using proactive methods of data collection, analysis and tracking to schedule and plan work volumes in accordance with resources and agreed timeframes
- Provide a superior level of service to internal and external stakeholders through communication of customer requirements to the workshop, and status updates to customers
- Support the Branch Manager and relevant Supervisors through scheduling and demand planning reports to ensure variations of work can be managed effectively
- Actively identify process improvements and recommend necessary actions to promote a continuous improvement culture
- Assist in parts forecasting process with the Strategy team and Parts inventory team

**Skills & Experience**
- Practical experience in mobile equipment maintenance planning and scheduling
- Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and interpersonal
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyse information and identify continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to achieve tight deadlines
- Demonstrated highly developed customer service skills
- Mechanical Trade Qualification and previous experience with maintenance management for heavy mobile equipment (Desirable)
