**About the Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit**:
The Emergency Department and Short Stay Units service approximately 80,000 patients per year, about 20% of whom are paediatric patients. This service will be delivered in a timely, compassionate, and appropriate manner, enhanced through teaching, research and the development of new technologies and processes.

These services operate 7 days per weeks, 24 hours per day.
