**The Role**:
This a great opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to manage end to end payroll within a growing business in the fuel industry. The Payroll Officer will join a friendly team and will actively contribute to the seamless operation of the company’s payroll processes.

Reporting directly to the Payroll Operations Manager, the Payroll Officer is responsible for the end to end processing of payroll for approximately 250 employees, and growing. The role will also assist with a number of payroll related projects including the implementation of new and/or updated systems and processes to improve efficiencies.

The Payroll Officer will process employees' pay by gathering payroll data and timesheets. Responsible in verifying employees' work hours and payment through the payroll system, issuing deductions, updating payroll records regularly, and insuring all employees are paid on time for every pay period.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct end to end processing of weekly and monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements
- Prepare and reconcile payroll related tasks including PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, Child Support, Employee Share Program and Workcover payments
- Maintain payroll records, including the setup of new starters, processing of employee contract changes and variations, and terminations.
- Supporting payroll audit processes, where required.
- Participate in payroll related month end tasks such as payroll reconciliation, wage analysis, current and terminated employees, hours worked, leave balances and Workcover payment/claims reconciliation.
- Monitoring the payroll inbox and investigating queries in a timely manner
- Produce payroll reports as required and complete other ad hoc tasks in accordance with the position
- Assist People & Culture with administering employee contracts, variations, and any other support needs. Help and assist Finance with GL allocation, profit cost centre and salaries and wages P&L review.
- Keep informed about any changes to ATO requirements, superannuation, vehicle repair, services, retail award, food industry award, and liberty enterprise agreement.

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Previous experience as a Payroll Officer responsible for processing end to end payroll
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll regulations and compliance and the ability to interpret different Awards and EBAs
- Proved ability to effectively prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, without compromising accuracy
- Competent to investigate issues, find solutions and communicate to stakeholders
- Must be able to work autonomously in a collaborative environment.
- Naturally is able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
