Farm Hand

Our client's property in situated in central Victoria close to the city of Bendigo and the smaller town of Maldon. They run Merino breeding breeding ewes for wool and sheep meat production and is focused on building strong relationships with employees and business partners to lift productivity of the breeding flock. Improvements still need to be made in genetic selection, strategic use of supplementary feeds whilst continuing our focus on sustainable systems within the changing climate.

**About the Role**:

- Merino breeding ewes for wool and sheep production
- Stock handling
- Animal Husbandry (drenching, vaccinating, droving etc)
- Shearing
- Crutching
- Machinery operations including tractors, augers, trucks and motorbikes
- Farm maintenance including fencing and general repairs

**About You**:

- MUST be passionate about the sheep industry
- An eye for stock well being
- Motivated
- Honest and Reliable
- Able to work autonomously or within a team
- Possess a positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for farming

**You will have**:

- At least 2 x working dogs or have knowledge in training and working and working with dogs)
- Shearing and Crutching experience
- Experience in similar role
- A genuine passion for the Sheep industry
- Animal husbandry skills
- Experience in operations of farm machinery
- Mechanical service and maintenance knowledge and experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience with machinery operation and maintenance, with fabrication and mechanical experience
- MR or HR licence is an advantage

**What's on Offer**:

- Salary: $70,000+ dependent on experience
- Hours: 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Overtime and longer hours during Seeding and Harvest - 12+ plus hours/7 days per week
- On farm accommodation: 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage with power and water included for couples/family or shared accommodation for singles
- Lunch and dinner provided during Seeding and Harvest
- Work ute provided
