Laboratory Technician

Due to ongoing growth an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician has been created. This would initially be a three day per week role, with an expectation that this will increase to five days/week as the business grows.

This is a hands-on role suited to a person keen to pursue a career in laboratory testing in a growing, dynamic environment. Full training for this role will be provided for the successful incumbent.

**Responsibilities**
- Preparation and performance of waterproofing membrane testing for compliance to AS/NZS 4858; AS 4654.1; and other testing as required.
- Perform scheduled laboratory equipment calibration inspections.
- Prepare test reports on tested samples for client consumption.
- Maintain laboratory in accordance with NATA and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Conduct procedures safely and maintain good housekeeping of laboratory areas.

**Selection Criteria**

ESSENTIAL
- Computer literate; competent working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Minimum education of a certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or similar.
- Experience in materials testing of paints or other related products.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good work ethic. Honest, confident, and reliable
- Current drivers’ license

HIGHLY REGARDED
- A Bachelor of Science or other science-based qualification.
- Experience working in ISO/IEC 17025 and/or NATA accredited laboratory environment.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Standards
- Professional written, verbal and interpersonal skills

**Salary**: $51,527.14 - $89,459.90 per year
