**About the role**:
Reporting to the National Skills Manager, the Academic Manager position is a key role within Australian Employment Training Solutions (AETS) which will be responsible for maintenance and development of training and assessment materials within a wide range of vocational courses and Employability Skills programs across the business. The successful applicant for this role will have demonstrated experience in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), delivering quality VET programs, whilst ensuring compliance and providing an engaging learning environment for students

**Job responsibility**:

- Overall responsibility and management of the development and maintenance of VET and Employability Skills programs.
- Maintaining and development of learning and assessment materials and resources that are creative and engaging.
- Ensuring all training products address the identified needs of the learner and learning objectives.
- Ensuring the training and assessment provided by the RTO continues to meet all regulatory and compliance requirements of the relevant industry and of RTO registration.
- Ensuring the training and assessment provided by AETS continues to meet all regulatory and compliance requirements in the Workforce Australia Deeds and Guidelines regarding Career Transition Assistance and Employability Skills Training
- Liaising with industry to ensure courses meet industry standards and ensure currency of content and assessment.
- Liaising and consulting with training and assessment staff to refine product offerings and support implementation of the learning program.
- Organising and leading the professional development of training and assessment staff in relation to course offerings.
- Evaluation of learning programs for effectiveness through analysis of student, staff and industry feedback and implementation of agreed course improvement

**Selection Criteria**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015, in particular:

- Trainer/Assessor requirements, and
- Ability to interpret Assessment requirements, and
- Ability to interpret Packaging Rule requirements, and design training programs accordingly
- A deep understanding of the national VET sector and how it relates to the national labour market
- An understanding of Traineeship programs
- An understanding of the different models of State and Federal Government funded training program
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, including report writing as and when required
- Ability to effectively use technology in the workplace and coordinate administrative requirements
- Experience in the management of Trainer/Assessors
- Extensive experience working with training coordinators (or similar) in the development and delivery of nationally recognised training programs to diverse cohorts and delivery models
