About the Opportunity:
We are looking to appoint a new Spray Seal Manager for our Infrastructure Services Spray Seal division. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is ready for the next step in their career.

You will oversee our Spray Seal business unit across both Metro and Ballarat regions and help us continue to drive the growth of this business.

We are seeking a leader with an ability to manage change, develop people and who has a demonstrated ability to satisfy both internal and external customers. You will be someone with solid business acumen and will know what it takes to deliver financial, quality and safety outcomes through our people.

As a Department Manager, you will:

- Communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring confidentiality of all written and verbal communication.
- Coordinate the activities of operating areas to achieve profit, objectives and targets.
- Prepare targets and objectives for the department and provide regular reporting feedback as to actual progress to targets. Prepare department business plans and associated annual budgets, including capital acquisition requests. Monthly financial reviews on actual vs. budget.
- Lead the safety culture of the department, review safety lead, and lag indicators and incidents. Safety review also includes review and close out of CAMS cases and involvement in incidents investigations such as Tripods/ICAM. Contribute to the development and annual review of SWMS.
- Control the quality of all services offered by the department through the effective direction of staff, monitoring the maintenance of procedures and taking corrective action where necessary.
- Identify strengths, trends, weaknesses, opportunities and threats within the market area.
- Drive for continuous business performance improvement.
- Participate actively in management meetings to optimize overall results.

What we need from you:

- _ Demonstrated exposure at management level, within the Surfacing, Civil construction or Road Maintenance space, from a contracting perspective._
- _ Ideally you will have qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline but industry experience is equally ideal._
- _ A demonstrated understanding in delivering Spray Seal projects as well as a technical understanding of road surfacing._
- _ Strong financial acumen with the ability to prepare operational budgets, P&L's as well as the ability to interrogate financial information._
- _ Strong Leadership skills as well a strong understanding of OHS/EHS best practice._
- _ A proactive approach to change management with the capacity to lead and inspire teams._
