We are seeking an experienced Mortuary Manager to lead our Team of Morticians/Mortuary Assistants and Embalmers on a full time basis.
The Mortuary Manager will provide exceptional leadership to the Mortuary team as well as, providing expertise in the Mortuary area and ensure excellence in customer service.
**Duties of the Mortuary Manager include**:
- Develop the internal capability of Embalmers and Morticians to ensure collaboration between sites and the delivery of quality outcomes building future leadership capability
- Deliver successful Service Excellence strategies, systems and processes developed in collaboration with the Operation, Regional and Shared Services Managers and teams
- Monitor all mortuaries to ensure all team members accurately follow instructions according to the mortuary instruction forms, mortuary registration documents and checking procedures
- Continually monitor and evaluate workplace operational issues and make improvements
- Promote good mortuary practices and service delivery standards that meet customer and company expectations.
- Where necessary perform body preparation procedures such as manoeuvring, lifting, washing, dressing, and supporting the morticians and embalmers where necessary.
- Ensure that all mortuaries are maintained, cleaned and sterilised including all equipment.
- Understand the Coffin/Casket trimming and engraving process.
- Have an understanding and involvement of funerals, transfers, and viewings.
**About you**:
- Be at ease with death, the expression of grief and handling deceased people.
- Show integrity by being honest, ethical and trustworthy.
- Broad operational management experience in in a service-driven organisation
- Strong people leadership and ability to articulate clear and positive future direction.
- Ability to manage employees operating across multiple sites, structures and environment
- In a fit state of physical and psychological health to be able to handle the inherent requirements of the role.
- Ability to move between strategy and operational execution.
- Good commercial acumen, financial literacy and decision-making skills
- Proven track record of driving and managing business process and cultural change
- Experience in developing and maintaining relationships.
- Current Driver’s License
- Mortuary Technicians/Embalmers qualifications desirable
