DEECA is committed to progressing Self-Determination for Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians. The Aboriginal Partnerships Coordinator supports the regional coordination and delivery of Pupangarli Marnmarnepu, DEECAs Aboriginal Self-Determination Reform Strategy 2020-2025.
The Aboriginal Partnerships Coordinator supports the region to ensure cultural safety is embedded and visible in the way DEECA works at all sites and levels across the region. The Coordinator will partner with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians to consistently deliver on what we say we will do, as well as supporting a culturally safe workplace for Aboriginal staff and visitors.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Aboriginal culture, society and land and resource management issues in Victoria and understanding of networks within Victorian Aboriginal communities and natural resource management agencies.
- Demonstrated experience in working effectively with diverse Traditional Owner groups and Aboriginal Victorians and ability to strengthen and build relationships and partnerships.

This is a fixed term position until 30 April 2024. The work location for this position is flexible within Barwon South West, Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
