**The Opportunity**
An opportunity exists for an experienced and skilled Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit Unit, within the People and Corporate Services Division of the Department. The role will play a key role in delivering the internal audit program and contribute towards effective risk management, compliance and assurance across the Department.

You will be provided with autonomy and genuine flexibility within a small team, which is focused on providing innovative solutions and customer-centred, value-adding audit and advisory services across the Department.

The Auditor is responsible for undertaking assigned audits from the annual plan, along with managing and developing internal client relations and supporting the Internal Audit Unit with delivery of the team/s assigned functions.

Core responsibilities include:

- Assisting in the development and execution of the risk-based Internal Audit Plan.
- Planning, conducting, and reporting on internal audits in line with established standards.
- Providing expert advice on risk management, control processes, and system improvements.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance audit processes and outcomes; and
- Supporting the delivery of other functions and services within the Audit Unit.

**About You**
We are looking for an experienced internal Auditor with:

- **Effective verbal and written communication** skills.
- **Proven ability to work effectively** in a collaborative, small-team environment.
- **Excellent stakeholder liaison** and relationship management skills.

**Special Conditions**

A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

**Education qualifications/licences**
- A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline will be well regarded.
- A postgraduate qualification e.g. CA, CPA, CIA, or a similar audit qualification will be well regarded.

**Remuneration**
ASO5 - $85,790 - $95,413 per annum
