Mental Health Support Worker

**Recruitflex** is a leading labour hire and recruitment organisation working with many of Australia's largest NDIS and Community Care providers across multiple locations.
Our client is seeking multiple Mental Health Support Workers to join their team, with responsibility for supporting individuals who are living with complex mental illnesses, current and past substance abuse issues, poverty and other social challenges.
You will provide exceptional support to participants in their homes and in the community, helping them to achieve their goals, dreams and aspirations by enhancing their participation and inclusion in the community. This will be achieved through the delivery and coordination of planned, person-centred activities, and the development and enhancement of independent living and social skills.
You may also be involved in advocating on behalf of support recipients and providing other assistance when necessary.
Responsibilities may include delivering personal care, performing domestic duties, transporting clients, organising appointments, and providing social assistance.
**In order to succeed within this role, you will need**:
- Qualifications in mental health, or similar, or lived experience with people living with mental health issues **OR**:
- Willingness to undertake a 3 week training program to achieve a part-qualification
- NDIS Worker Screening (or willing to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
- National Police Clearance (within 6 months, or willing to obtain)
- Right to Work in Australia
- Current, unrestricted Driver’s Licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- First Aid and CPR qualifications (or willing to obtain)
Anyexperience with persons experiencing mental health, PTSD or other schizoaffective disorders, or experience as a Support Worker within the health/disability sector will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
