**About the role**:
Merri-bek City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Revenue Officer to join our Finance team. Our revenue services team looks after 86,000 rateable assessments, we are currently looking for someone who will enjoy learning and working in a fast paced, customer service focused environment.

**Skills and experience required to perform this role**:

- Work experience in an entry level rates, revenue or customer services role is highly desirable but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal communication including phone and written communication skills and problem-solving skills.
- A strong commitment to customer service, including the ability to manager difficult customers
- Excellent administrative skills.
- A good level of skill with computer operating systems
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

**Key responsibilities required to perform this role**:

- To support the Revenue Services Team, in providing customer service and administrative support for the section including but not limited to the processing of all acquisitions, dispositions and changes of address, direct debit, copy notices, ownership requests and written enquiries
- To process and respond to customer requests in writing, by telephone and at counter
- Communicate with general public, customers, government departments and staff
- Produce land information certificates daily.
- Assist with administration support for property and supplementary valuation tasks if required.
- Assist in recovering all amounts due or payable to Council promptly in accordance with the Debt Management (Including Financial Hardship) policy.
