The Data Centre Security Team provides physical security solutions to protect AWS personnel, AWS facilities and information of our customers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Build trust, establish and maintain customer relationship with data centre business partners to execute a comprehensive strategy that enhances security, while enabling our partners to build customer capacity.
- Responsible for planning, developing and implementing security plans and security programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Incident Management, while coordinating site investigations with the Global Intelligence and Investigative team.
- Maintains an extensive knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues and security technology, and updates management on risk and threats against AWS employees and infrastructure.
- Responsible for performing continual risk analysis for the data center sites, particularly with respect to level of crime, terrorism, workplace violence, and threats from natural and man-made disasters.
- Responsible for providing leadership and best practices on security policy and practices to on-site data centre management.
- Looks around corners and identifies vulnerabilities early and designs and implements a strategy to close existing or emerging security gaps and seams.

Provides leadership and clear guidance and direction to AWS Datacenter staff as well as contract security staff to achieve current and long-range strategic security program objectives.
- Supports regional and global security leadership in conducting investigations of significant threats and/or the loss or misappropriation of assets.

Develops and implements security standards and procedures for all contract site security coordinators.
- Liaisons with local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies for the locations of the Data Centres.
- 25% travel required both domestic and international

Key job responsibilities
- The demonstrated ability to design and implement physical security measures and controls at the high
- AWS bar to ensure our customer's data is 100% safeguarded.
- Work directly with AWS data center business partners to deliver "security as a service" that safeguards life, data, and property, while facilitating business operations in a complex and fluid environment.
- Provide the mentoring, guidance, and coaching to get the very best out of a high performing security team.
- Ability to deliver a compelling written business case without the use of PowerPoint.

A day in the life
This is a high tempo role that requires ingenuity and a bias for action to meet the demands of our business partners and adapt to changing business processes. The Cluster Security Manager reviews security plans, collaborates with business partners, while being a servant leader to the security team by providing clear direction, resources, and advocacy.
