**About the role**
- Provide clinical leadership in the provision of effective and efficient quality services within the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
- Contribute to the provision of safe, best practice clinical services to the patients of, and referred to, the Gastroenterology Unit.
- Provide specialist opinion on patients referred for consultation.
- Provide clinical leadership to facilitate and support a team approach to the provision of clinical services.
- Assign and supervise the clinical practice of junior medical officers.
- Contribute to teaching/training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Assist the HOU Gastroenterology in planning and organising the delivery of clinical services.
- Contribute to the hospital achieving best practice in the design and delivery of clinical services

**Qualifications**
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications for Consultant/Senior Consultant registrable as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Australasia.

**Essential Requirements**
- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- DHS Working With Children Check
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
