We are a locally owned and operated business, operating multiple cafes in Canberra. A current manager position is available at Atomic Catering, located within Questacon. The café manager will report to the Operations Manager and owner. All our managers are given the support they need through the help and training provided by the Operations Manager, whilst given the opportunity to impart their expertise and ideas into the business. We pride ourselves on providing high quality products and amazing customer service. Our seasonal menus use locally sourced produce and of course Canberra's best locally roasted coffee. Atomic Catering is a multi faceted business. Our core business is to operate the café inside Questacon, providing outstanding products and service to tourists, staff of Questacon and regular customers. Beyond this, we provide a range of corporate catering services and run both boutique and large scale events. We have a particular focus on growing this aspect of the business and the successful applicant will play a vital role in helping us achieve this.

**Attributes, Qualifications & Experience**
- Minimum 2 years experience in a management role
- Strong barista knowledge and experience in a high paced café environment using specialty coffee
- Strong hospitality knowledge with experience in providing high levels of customer service
- Experience in catering and events will be an advantage
- Demonstrated ability in leading a team, with great communication & problem solving skills
- Dedicated to working hard to achieve results for the business
- Good eye for detail. Being able to ensure the café remains clean and presentable at all times

**Tasks & Responsibilities**
- Attend staff and management meetings as and when required. Provide owners with accurate and timely information when and where required
- Ensure staff compliance with the weekly roster and ensure all staff comply with the cafes standard of punctuality, presentation and customer service
- Monitor and adjust all service levels to ensure effective staff utilisation. Ensure all staff comply with the cafes procedures relating to the restocking system including storage of goods, weekly and random stock take, setting and maintaining par levels, usage analysis and follow-up
- Maintain provision of efficient service, cleaning of café areas and equipment, restocking product on a rotational basis, waste storage and disposal, chemical storage and usage, cleaning of dining areas and neat presentation of all customer areas
- Ensure compliance with security procedures & safe handling of cash. Perform cash reconciliation on a daily basis from all registers. Monitor any surplus, deficits and report any variances or discrepancies
- Conduct all opening, operating and closing duties as pre written procedures. Conduct pre shift inspection of all operational areas to ensure the highest standards of presentation are maintained at all times. Monitor standard of staff presentation and that uniform is worn correctly
- Provide a hands on operational role in the provision of the café at all times. Provide a high level of customer service to all customers at all times. Consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, commitment, fairness and cooperation in all aspects of the above responsibilities
- Assist the Operations Manager and Owner in the running of small and large scale events throughout the year

**Salary**: From $58,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Hospitality: 2 years (preferred)
