The kindergarten is ideally located central to the primary school and we pride ourselves on providing a genuine nine-year learning experience for our children with strong connections to community. We currently provide for 88 children, operating two 3 year-old programs and two 4 year old programs. Extended care is available, together with access to the primary school’s out of hours care program. Our staff are experienced and work in partnership to provide best opportunities and developmental experiences for our children.

Tuesday and Wednesday - 8.00 am to 4.00 pm,Thursday 9am to 12 noon for planning

**Description**

**Three-Year-Old Kindergarten Teacher (Part - Time)** Box Hill North Primary Kindergarten has an opportunity for a kindergarten teacher to work at our kindergarten with one of our three-year-old groups 3 days per week, Tuesday and Wednesday, with planning time allocated on a Thursday. 18 hours per week, including teaching and planning hours. This position is paid under the VECTEA 2020 Agreement. This position is commencing term 1 2025. **Responsibilities and duties**:General responsibilities**
- Bringing positivity to the role, lead by example and create a collaborative and fun working environment.
- Work collaboratively with the co-educator and director, and plan/deliver a developmentally appropriate program for the children.
- Respect the confidentiality of information relating to parents and children and comply with the service’s privacy policy.
- Be responsible for sharing the housekeeping tasks of preparation, hygiene, safety and packing away with other staff related to the program.
- Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan of the service.
- Work cooperatively with the director of kindergarten and all staff to ensure the service operates in a safe work environment and that employees adhere to all service OHS safety procedures
- Attending and be a part of community engagement and events run by kindergarten throughout the year

**Specific responsibilities**
- Lead the planning and implementation of a culturally rich and Interest-led program, in consultation with the co-educator, parents and wider community.
- Create a supportive and welcoming learning environment, as well as ensuring experiences are appropriate for child's developmental skills and levels
- Ensure the program is inclusive for all children, including ensuring the program for children with a disability is accessible
- Confidence in developing, recording and maintaining specific records of individual children through observations, group stories, learning stories and other documentation.
- Working with all staff to ensure that children are adequately supervised at all times
- Support the participation of parents in the program
- As part of a team, facilitate effective communication with others and be open to feedback
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents and professionals.
- Work in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner with children, parents, staff, other professionals and the school council.
- Attend staff meetings, PDs and other work-related events as a part of professional development and service requirements
