Purpose of the role

The Toolmaker is responsible for the make, maintenance and repair of dies, jigs, fixtures and press tools used for the manufacturing process at Philmac, using a range of toolroom processes, tools, and machinery to produce the required parts in line with operational requirements and policies and procedures.

You will work Monday - Friday from 7:00am until 3:00pm.

What will you do?
- You will be responsible for maintaining current records within the MEX CMMS and the management of small projects to ensure continuous improvement of toolroom systems and processes
- Undertake toolroom duties, manufacture new parts and repair and maintain tools and dies
- Attend to breakdowns as required and create follow up work orders
- Monitor MEX/MATTEC tool and die service schedules and undertake any services due in consultation with the Engineering Services Supervisor and Production Planner
- Complete maintenance inspection and service sheets as required
- Maintain a stock of critical machine and process spares and accurately record the usage and details of parts required

About You
- Trade qualification in Fitting & Turning
- Trade qualification in Toolmaking
- Proven experience working in a toolroom environment
- Experience using a CMMS, preferably MEX
- Competent in CNC machine programming
- Knowledge of materials properties and processing methods
- Knowledge of measurement equipment and methods
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues safely and a mechanical aptitude
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound decision making skills
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
