An excellent opportunity has become available for experienced Finance Officer to provide high quality financial services and support assisting with the co‑ordination, consolidation, overall preparation, finalisation and submission of budgeted financial statements and forward estimates.
**As the successful Senior Finance Officer, your key responsibilities will include the following**:
- Assist in the sourcing and preparation of information for Department, Ministerial, Queensland Treasury and CBRC budget submissions, forward estimates, financial statements, mid-year review, funding and project information, special studies and ad hoc information as required.
- Liaise with regional finance and business unit operational staff and advise and co-ordinate responses on management accounting and general financial management activities.
- Assist with the review and update budget of proformas for salaries and operating statement, capital schedules and any special budget schedules required including revision and update of formulae, and addition of new financial information.
- Assist with the review of strategic initiatives and with finalisation of the annual operating budget.
- Assist with compilation of annual capital statement and regional budget statements and the preparation of annual budget data for Service Delivery Statements.
- Assist with the cash flowing of annual budgets and the upload of annual budgets to SAP.
- Assist with preparation of quarterly performance reporting.
- Maintain journal files.
- Prepare departmental and divisional operating and balance sheet performance and capital expenditure management reports.
- Use SAP to analyse performance variances and prepare special interest reports on strategic and operational issues of concern.
- Assist with the preparation/review of schedules that support the monthly financial statements.
- Preparation of data, cost or investment analyses for various projects.
- Develop project or strategic initiative budget estimates as necessary.
- Review and endorse journals for various expense and balance sheet accounts.
- Perform budget transfers in SAP.
- Undertake such other tasks, roles or projects as necessary for the professional functioning of the team and the delivery of its services with good internal control and appropriate corporate governance and providing a high level of customer service. This may be self-initiated or at the request of another team member.
