Biomedical Technician

**About Biomedical Technology Services (BTS)**:
Biomedical Technology Services provides a comprehensive health technology management, service and support capability to Hospital and Health Services and other parts of Queensland Health through the state-wide delivery of biomedical engineering, diagnostic medical physics, and radiology support services.

**What we are looking for**:

- Knowledge and experience in electronic and/or mechanical technologies, general engineering and other technologies associated with health technology equipment.
- Willingness to provide guidance and support to students and less experienced practitioners.
- High level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders/clients under the direction of more senior practitioners.
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
- Honesty, integrity and respect for all staff, clients and other health care workers.

**Qualifications, registrations and other requirements**:

- The successful applicant must at least hold an Associate Diploma (generally graduating prior to the year 2000) or a Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) (Year 2000 onwards), tertiary, or equivalent formal qualification(s) in the field of Engineering.
- Hold the licences, certifications and accreditations required to carry out activities within the relevant discipline areas, or willingness and ability to make significant progress towards obtaining such during the first 6 months of employment. For example: Restricted Electrical Work Licence.
- It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16): measles, mumps, rubella (MMR),varicella (chicken pox),pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, tuberculosis.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
