Rehabilitation Aged and Community Services (RACS) Division have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist with advanced level knowledge and skills to lead the delivery of high-quality evidence-based care.

We are looking for a highly motivated advance level clinician who can lead advancement of clinical knowledge and skills acquisition of a team of Occupational Therapists and Assistants providing Occupational therapy in one or more of the following areas - Rehabilitation, Aged Care, and/or Community Health Care environments.

Our services are provided to people requiring inpatient, ambulatory and community-based rehabilitation, acute and ambulatory aged care, Driver assessment and rehabilitation and community health service provision. We provide services across a range of settings including Canberra Hospital, University of Canberra Hospital, Community Health Centres within the ACT, Village Creek Centre, and care provided in patient homes and other community settings.

The Occupational Therapy Clinical Practice Lead role aims to optimise high quality, patient centred clinical practice, by collaboration with clinicians, managers and other senior OT roles, and driving excellence in OT practice.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
Rehabilitation, Aged and Community Services (RACS) is a vibrant and diverse Division within Canberra Health Services providing multidisciplinary rehabilitation, aged and community-based care across a range of settings. This includes Canberra Hospital, University of Canberra Hospital, Community Health Centres, Village Creek Centre in Kambah, and care provided in patients home and other community settings. **The University of Canberra Hospital (UCH), Specialist Centre for Rehabilitation, Recovery and Research is located on the grounds of the University of Canberra. The hospital, the ACT’s first sub-acute rehabilitation hospital, is part of ACT Health’s network of health facilities designed to meet the needs of our ageing and growing population.**:
**The Occupational Therapy services within RACS provide clinical assessments and interventions to facilitate positive patient outcomes for a range of patients who vary in their medical conditions. This includes people with neurological conditions, orthopaedic conditions, complex medical conditions and frail aged. Services are offered in community settings, including patient homes, ambulatory and inpatient settings at Canberra Hospital and University of Canberra Hospital.**:
**Occupational Therapy services are provided to people requiring inpatient, ambulatory and community-based rehabilitation and reablement, acute and ambulatory aged care, Driver assessment and rehabilitation, National Disability Insurance Scheme participants and to people eligible for services funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Program.**:
**DUTIES**:
In partnership with the RACS OT Managers, you will optimise high quality, patient centred care, by collaborating with clinicians, managers and other senior OTs, driving excellence in OT practice. The role works closely with clinicians and patients, to develop and enhance clinical skills and the occupational therapy services within the Division of RACS. You will:

- Provide high level effective clinical leadership to Occupational Therapy within the RACS Division in one or more clinical specialty areas including: Aged Care, Community based services, and Rehabilitation.
- Facilitate a learning and development culture. In collaboration with management, identify evolving gaps in service and care provision, including gaps in clinical knowledge and skills and address these to meet the objectives of the Division.
- Ensure standardisation and high levels of safe, high quality occupational therapy practice within RACS OT, which maximise efficiency and meet contemporary quality and safety, and clinical practice standards.
