The Kitchen Attendant supports the kitchen operations by performing a variety of tasks including food preparation, cleaning, and organization to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen environment. This role requires adherence to safety and hygiene standards, effective teamwork, and the ability to follow instructions.

**The Role**:

- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas, including counters, sinks, and storage areas.
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment and utensils according to established procedures.
- Dispose of waste and manage recycling according to environmental and health regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes under the guidance of chefs or kitchen supervisors.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels of crockery, chemicals, storage containers and supplies.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including personal hygiene, handwashing, and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure that all food items are stored at appropriate temperatures and handle food in a safe manner to prevent contamination.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

**About You**:

- Communication: Clear and effective verbal communication skills to interact with team members.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address issues or challenges in the kitchen environment. Proactive approach to resolving problems and seeking assistance when necessary.
- Time management: manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently allocate and prioritise time and resources in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with colleagues, including staff in other departments and management, to ensure smooth operations.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen environment.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to handle varying customer volumes, chef requests, and varying shifts, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekends, events, and holidays.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for extended periods and handle physically demanding tasks in a hot and busy kitchen environment
- Previous experience in a within a commercial kitchen is advantageous but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Valid Food Safety certificate
