The Economic Development Unit provides services and support to the local business community through information, education and training, and provision of business events and activation. Projects delivered aim to support current businesses within Monash and drive the long term sustainability of the Monash Economy.

The Economic Development Unit sits within the Community Strengthening department of the Community Development Division acknowledging the impact that local businesses and local jobs have on supporting a healthy, engaged and prosperous resident community.

**About the Position**:
The role of Economic Development Administration Officer is to provide administration and technical support for the programs, activities, events and operations undertaken by the Economic Development Team, including responding to general business enquiries. This role drives the communications (including EDMs and other electronic communications) to and for the local business community, and involves delivery of, or support at, both business and community events.

A focus is on the delivery of excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders including businesses, business groups, delivery partners, residents wanting to start a business and other such customers engaging with Council economic development services. Data management and strict work scheduling are required in this role.

**About you**:
Process driven, accurate, and have experience scheduling work tasks

Desire to understand business challenges & services and be comfortable responding to general business enquiries

Knowledge or interest in management of business data and statistics

Flexible to support the delivery of business and community events (sometimes outside of general business hours)

Team player, and happy to contribute ideas and support the Vision of the City of Monash

Thorough understanding and ability to use various online communication and electronic record keeping tools.
