About ECHO

ECHO Community Services is a registered charity providing care to the elderly to help them live in their own home with dignity while still maintaining their independence.

We provide in-home services 7 days per week for Home Care Package and 5 days per week for CHSP.

Our goal is to provide services at the same time, on the same day and with the same team of support worker which means that you know the people who are coming and the time they will arrive. Having the same support workers providing services, in particular, medication prompts and personal care, maintains the person’s dignity and well-being. You know and can trust the people attending. There is continuity of care for people who receive our services.

**Description**:
The roles involve providing aid to the elderly, including the area of medication prompts, personal care and domestic assistance (household cleaning) and is especially suited to someone who is wanting to gain hands-on experience in the aged care or disability sectors within a thriving and supportive workplace. ECHO provides salary packaging, first aid training, as well as a travel allowance for distance incurred between client appointments.

**Skills and Experiences**:
(Part-time work available, students welcome)

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Driver’s licence, and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current satisfactory police clearance.
- Certificate III in Age Care / Individual Support for qualified positions
- Previous experience in household cleaning and laundry.
- Experience with Dementia
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to uphold high standards of work.
- Honest and trustworthy.
- Possess a “can do” attitude

ECHO is willing to work with you in term of the available hours you have to offer.

**Work Hours**: Flexible approach to work across 7 days for AM and PM shifts is essential to support operational needs.
Qualified Support workers for evening services 3pm to 9pm
Home help / Domestic cleaner for Monday to Friday
- 9am to 4pm or school hours
Male support worker qualified, with cooking skills - 5 hour respite on Friday for 3 months

**ECHO can offer you**:

- Travel allowance of $0.80 cents per kilometre and travel time between clients.
