**Overview of the Role**
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will play a pivotal role in leading AFGC towards achieving its strategic objectives. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and serving as a vital member of the Executive Team, you will also assume the responsibilities of Company Secretary and interact with the Board of Directors on critical financial, governance, membership, and business operational matters.

**As the COO of AFGC, you will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities, including**:

- Analysing financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Reporting financial performance to the Executive and Board
- Contribute to the development, execution, and monitoring of AFGC's strategic and operational plans and budget
- Oversee and develop the membership, events, sponsorship, partnership, communications and marketing functions
- Serving as Company Secretary, ensuring legal compliance under the Corporations Act 2001
- Acting as Secretariat for Board sub-committees: Finance and Audit Committee, Governance and Risk Committee
- Provide guidance on corporate governance and risk management practices
- Assist with business planning, risk assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strategically overseeing information technology, ensuring alignment with the technology roadmap and robust cybersecurity measures
- Manage HR processes, such as contractual arrangements, inductions, performance reviews, and development
- Manage and lead a team

**Essential Experience & Qualifications**
- Experience managing operations in a not-for-profit business, including finance, administration, IT, and HR
- Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring operational strategies, processes, and structures
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
- Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, management, or marketing
