Radiocommunications Technician

DinVision Pty Ltd provide project management, construction, installation, and maintenance services for a wide range of small to medium scale wireless and fixed telecommunication infrastructure projects. Due to the recent signing of new contracts with key NBN & Telstra delivery partners on several NBN and Telstra projects, our company has a position available for Radiocommunication Technician with relevant and proven experience and willingness to travel to regional Victoria if required.

Opportunity

Our company is searching for a Full-time Radiocommunications Technician who can implement telecommunications equipment installation plans based on the client's specifications, maintain each component of the network and investigate and rectify issues. The Radiocommunication Technician will be responsible for assessing the functionality of the network, ensuring all internet physical connections and updated regularly to maximize network performance, efficiency and security as well support the project manager and staff by managing task closely with all internal/external Project stakeholders to deliver the project ahead of time and with the standards.

Your Role

Your role as a Radiocommunication Technician will include all activities such as:

- Assessing the work required, choosing the best location for the installation of the wireless radiocommunication antennas or 2-way satellite dish, explaining the method of installation to the customer and obtaining written approval prior to start.
- Assembling and mounting the VSAT ODU satellite dish, wireless or directional microwave antenna on roof, masts or other approved support structures.
- Installing the IFL cabling, wallplates, UPS systems
- Terminating cables, installing splitters, multiswitches and multiplexers
- Installing and activating VSAT Modems, IDUs, Set-Top boxes, CelFi antennas, connecting to customer WiFi and LAN Routers, Smart TVs, amplifiers, smart home wiring.
- Training customers in system and equipment operation and basic maintenance
- Installing external V-Sat antennas on single and double story propertiesas well as installing microwave link directional antennas in the GigaHertz range.
- Installing Internal cabling, installing and activating ODUs and IDUs, WiFi modems and other residential and commercial End-User equipment.
- Prewiring homes under construction to achieve “NBN-Ready” compliance status, as well as for Free-view, BigPond and Foxtel Satellite services.
- Training End-Users in equipment operation.

Therefore, apart from technical expertise, you will be required to demonstrate the highest levels of end user and customer interaction, proactive workflow management and attention to safety aspects.

Salary The starting salary package range being offered in this role is between $60,000 - $70,000 plus superannuation depending on experience.

Entry Requirements You will need to demonstrate a minimum of 3-years of documented experience in the role of a Radiocommunication Technician while being able to meet the following criteria:

- Possess the right to work in Australia (Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred)
- Have a Construction Industry Induction White Card
- Be able to pass a national police check
- Be proficient in the use of VisRES and Novus cloud environments
- Be proficient in the use of CRM software like Service M8, Oracle ETA or ConnectTeam
- Be proficient in the use of Google Application package, Dropbox, OneDrive cloud software and Microsoft 365 Package
- Be proficient in interpreting engineering, survey and construction drawings.
- Be proficient in HFC and fibre optic signal balancing and calculations.
- Be proficient in design validation and BOMBOQ validation
- Be proficient in conducting redesigns and surveys during field visits to sites.
- Be proficient in coordination and adjustment of material requirements
- Have V-Sat Installation and fault-finding experience backed by appropriate certifications
- Have proven experience in ViaSat & Andrews Antenna installation, setup and maintenance

Additional knowledge and skills desirable for this role are:

- Knowledge of relevant industry equipment standards
- Knowledge of industry safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures
- Solid IT skills in Computer Network Routing, Switching, load balancing etc.
- Solid understanding of Ubiquiti and MikroTik LAN Network device set-up and configuration.
- Proven Experience in Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of multiplexers (e.g Terra brand)

Education and Qualifications strongly desired for this role
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma of IT (preferable).
- NBN Enable card, with active accreditations in HFC and FTTP and occupational enable skills as a Telecommunications Fibre Splicer; Telecommunications Lines worker - HFC; Telecommunications Technician - HFC;
