Tree Assessment Officer

**The Opportunity**

Working in the Infrastructure & Works group the **Tree Assessment Officer **provides technical advice to internal and external stakeholders regarding tree assessment, preservation, planting and ongoing management of trees on public land.

Drawing on technical expertise the position is responsible for undertaking visual tree inspections with accurate recording and reporting, complex tree assessments using diagnostic equipment, data management of Council’s Tree Asset Register as well as actioning of customer service requests and associated record keeping. This role will also contribute to the development and implementation of Council’s Tree Maintenance Program and the delivery of community education programs including community tree planting events and activities.

**You**

To be successful in this role you will possess a Diploma in Arboriculture or an equivalent combination of relevant contemporary industry experience and/or education and training. You will have demonstrated experience in tree management and assessment as well as demonstrated experience in the collection and analysis of diagnostic data for the purpose of providing expert advice and producing technical reports.

You will possess the proven ability to work with mínimal supervision, prioritise your workload, manage competing demands and meet deadlines. The proven ability to work productively in a team as well as excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are also required.

The following licences/tickets are not essential but would be highly regarded:

- Knowledge and understanding of RFS Guardian System
- General Construction Induction Card
- Elevated Work Platform Licence

**Benefits**

This is a permanent full-time role with a salary range of $81,833 up to $90,835 per year based on demonstrated competencies and experience + 10.5% superannuation.
