**Job Description**:
Join the Award-Winning News Team at 9News Melbourne

At 9News, we produce a vast amount of content every day, covering the most significant and impactful stories in Melbourne, Victoria and around the world.

Our TV operation is the heart of video and breaking news journalism at Nine, making it the place to be if you want to be at the centre of the action.

As a 9News producer, you'll be responsible for overseeing or gathering high-quality journalism which informs, educates and engages our viewers.

**Day to day**:

- Produce and write accurate segments and briefs for 9news under tight deadlines
- Identify stories and angles which will resonate with viewers
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
- Liaise with colleagues across TV news, graphics and the studio to produce timely, creative and clear segments for the show
- Come up with content ideas and be able to execute them
- Pursue and secure talent for live segments and tapes, often on an exclusive basis
- Writing TV scripts for host and reporter tapes when required
- Structuring and building rundowns with supervision, and assist in a live control room environment

**Qualifications**:

- A deep understanding of the news. You must have a strong comprehension and interest in current affairs, politics and the news cycle
- Excellent communication skills: You must be able to communicate effectively with the team and convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Attention to detail: You must have a keen eye for detail and spot errors or inconsistencies.
- Strong organisational skills
- Creative thinking: 9News producers and journalists think outside the box and are willing to take risks.
- Ability to work under pressure: You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. You remain calm and focused under tight deadlines and in the face of unexpected challenges.
- Teamwork: We're looking for individuals who share our values of collaboration and teamwork.
