**About the role**:
Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, Fleetwood’s Fabrication Supervisor play's a key role within our manufacturing and build process. The main responsibilities of the Fabrication Supervisor are to lead, manage & mentor our fantastic team of welders to ensure the supply of quality steel frame and building components in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner, working within all of Fleetwood’s policies and procedures.
This position will be based out of our Smithfield facility.
**The key responsibilities of the role are to**:
- Lead and support the Welding department so that objectives and KPI’s are achieved
- Carry out QA/QC inspections.
- Interfacing with various departments
- Day to day planning and decision making
- Delegation of work between welding team to maximise workflow
- Reporting on various aspects to Manufacturing Manager
- Ensure you and your team strive to achieve a high level of quality
- Plan, organise and direct resources in a safe and cost-effective manner
- Monitor you and your team’s performance against pre-determined targets
- Ensure all qualifications are kept up to date
- Ensure the team work together and continually improve practices & procedures.
- Ensure consumables are kept in stock and replaced as needed
- All plant and equipment are regularly maintained and serviced
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in workshop and around yard
- Ensure workers adhere to PPE requirements
- Ensure workers adhere to all Fleetwood policies and procedures
- Ensuring internal supply of products and materials is of high quality
**About You**
**To be successful in this role you will demonstrate**:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in fabrication/welding
- Vast knowledge of metal fabrication and building products
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- NDT certification (_desired but not essentia_l)
- Strong focus on Safety and Quality Control
- Sound written and oral communication skills
- Skilled in defining, prioritising, and organising completing tasks to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated drive and initiative
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Professional attitude with regard to work ethics
- Mechanical Engineering (_desired but not essentia_l)
- Welding, Boilermaker or Metal Fabrication Certification
- Current valid Australian Driver’s License
- Construction White Card
- High Risk Forklift Ticket _(desired but not essential)_
