Mining, Exploration, and Geoscience (MEG) - part of the Department of Regional NSW, are looking for a Geoscientist with mineral separation, geochemical and microanalytical expertise to undertake geoscientific assessments and projects to provide informed advice to internal and external clients in order to facilitate effective mineral resource exploration and development in NSW.

Working as part of a small team you’ll be responsible for undertaking mineral separation and mineral preparation tasks as well as whole-rock and isotopic geochemical, mineralogical and age-dating studies to improve our understanding of the mineral systems of NSW and their related rocks.

**What you need to be successful**:

- Demonstrated expertise in a range of lab-based mineral separation techniques (gravity and magnetic methods etc).
- Experience in whole-rock geochemical and microanalytical techniques, and related data reduction and interpretation.
- Sound knowledge of the geology of New South Wales.

You’ll also need:

- Degree qualifications in geoscience, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geological database and document management systems.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence (fieldwork in NSW may be required in addition to travel to mineral preparation facility and the W. B. Clark Geoscience Centre, Londonderry)
