**Facilities Officer - Grounds and Maintenance**

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Facilities Officer to join our friendly and dynamic Property and Works team on a Permanent Full Time basis; starting immediately. As the Facilities Officer you will have a hands-on approach, playing a vital role in ensuring our campus and facilities are operational, safely maintained and presented to a high standard.

**Your Role**:
Working as part of a small and experienced team, this role will be responsible for undertaking and assisting with a wide range of repairs, minor project works, building and equipment maintenance as well as provide generalised support to both the Facilities Manager and wider College Community on a daily basis. No two days will be the same.

Applicants with a background in a trade or in general repairs and maintenance in any previous contexts are encouraged to apply.

**Responsibilities may Include**:

- Carry out general maintenance throughout the campus in line with planned preventative maintenance requirement and the routine maintenance schedule.
- Assist in set-ups and take-downs for activities, events and functions.
- Assist with office and classroom furniture changes.
- Assist with the reception of goods delivered by couriers and suppliers.
- Be proactive in identifying safety hazards, opportunities for improvement and general repairs to College facilities.
- General maintenance of equipment used, such as tractor, gator, ride-on mowers, blowers etc.
- Assist with project work as directed.
- Attend to irrigation systems including scheduling for optimum use of water, monitoring operation, and maintaining equipment as required.
- Assist staff and students with operational requirements approved by the Facilities Manager.
- Provide assistance with function, excursions, events and specific projects as directed.
- Reactive clean when required.

**Key Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated experience with the operation and maintenance of the types of machinery used at the College.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good interpersonal skills that are necessary to appropriately liaise with students, staff, parents, visitors and other members of the public.
- Ability to work as a constructive member of a group.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and operate as a member of the Property and Works department.
- Possess a broad and extensive repertoire of skills to be able to independently cope with a variety of maintenance issues and a proven ability to use a variety of tools and work at various locations around the campus.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Have a current Positive Notice working with children Blue Card, or the ability to obtain one.
- A Certificate III in Horticulture/Greenkeeping and/or trade qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Current C class drivers license, MR would be an advantage.
