We are looking for a **Specialist Zoologist** to join our Biological Assessments team in Perth. The Specialist Zoologist role is a critical technical role that provides subterranean fauna knowledge and information to support and underpin environmental approvals.

This role is a great opportunity to lead advancements in investigating and evaluating environmental values. Reporting to the Superintendent Biological Assessments, you will be:

- Building effective relationships with internal approvals specialists and project stakeholders, biological consultants and industry experts.
- Leading ecology projects and participating in industry research working groups.
- Preparation and reviews of scopes of work, technical reports and associated datasets.
- Engaging with and providing advice to internal approvals specialists on subterranean fauna values.

**What you’ll bring**

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

- Degree in zoology/ ecology/environmental science or equivalent
- Strategic, forward thinking competencies and demonstrated ability to deliver technical inputs to environmental approvals
- Ability to work autonomously as well as together with a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong partnering skills and ability to influence
- Proficient time management skills and ability to prioritise complex and ambiguous tasks
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills coupled with an ability to think on your feet and make quick rational decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to quickly develop positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience in subterranean fauna assessments, survey, taxonomy and/or molecular systematics would be highly regarded

**Where you’ll be working**

Perth based but with a working focus on supporting operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
