Western Health Medical Imaging (WHMI) provides state-of-the-art comprehensive Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology services to one of the most culturally dynamic and rapidly expanding growth corridors in Australia serving a population of over one million. WHMI is an accredited Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) Registrar teaching facility.

**About the Role**

Western Health Medical Imaging seeks Diagnostic Radiologists and Interventional Radiologists for Full Time or Part Time Contracts. A day session is equivalent to 8 hours for a part time role and 10 hours for those full time. The vacant hours (6+ EFT) can be filled immediately. There is also the opportunity for an offered position to commence at a date not later than February 2025.

The role of the** Diagnostic Clinical Radiologist **is to provide high quality Radiology services to the patients of Western Health and its external referrers.

Subspecialty training in one of the following areas of imaging is mandatory: Body, Chest (including cardiac imaging), Breast (including MRI), Musculoskeletal, Neurology, Nuclear Medicine (including PET), Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics.

Ability to report MRI studies is also mandatory.

The Radiologist must be competent in performing Tier A procedures and is a mandatory requirement.

**Requirements specifically for Interventional Radiologists**:

- Membership of the Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (IRSA)
- Possession of or commitment to complete European Board of Interventional Radiology qualification
- Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology.

**The following are mandatory requirements for both Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologists**:

- A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) which is recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Registration by AHPRA as Clinical Radiologist with a current annual practicing certificate.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in Clinical Radiology, including maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration.
- Valid radiation licence
- Supervision and training of Junior Medical Staff and support of Western Health Strategic Priorities are mandatory
- Responsibility to report and perform other duties as directed by the Director of Medical Imaging
- Diagnostic Radiologists will participate in the After-Hours and On-Call Diagnostic roster as required covering all but Interventional Radiology
- Interventional Radiologists will participate in the Interventional Radiology On-Call roster as required
- Eligible to bill Medicare
