**SC6** Parkville College is guided by an evidence based culturally responsive pedagogy. Provide an example from your experience that demonstrates your understanding and implementation of Culturally Responsive Practice in an educational setting.

**Role**:
The Parkville College Melton Transitions Advocate will be based at the Parkville Campus, however will be required to work across other campuses/sites and secondary schools within the Melton area, primarily Melton Secondary College, Kurunjang Secondary College and Staughton College. The successful applicant also may be required to work some school holiday periods.

Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.

Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

**Responsibilities**:
The successful applicant will be required to hold a current and valid driver licence.
- Work collaboratively with schools and key stakeholders to develop or refine educational supports and pathways for young people involved with Youth Justice that are directed to the full development of the young person and with their engagement in education.
- Provide timely support and communication between students and schools associated with the project
- Perform targeted outreach with young people, their families and stakeholders to support educational re/engagement, career pathways and opportunities
- Engage with key contact staff in the three Melton secondary schools to maximise support for the young person
- Deliver professional learning sessions with staff as appropriate
- Deliver group programs to students where planned
- Participate in relevant Care Team meetings and SSGs as appropriate
- Participate in leadership supervision, professional development and wellbeing group supervision regularly
- Record, analyse and report on data pertaining to project objectives
- Participate in the Melton Parkville Transition Pilot working group to report on and assist in the documentation of learnings from the pilot.
- In conjunction with the above requirements, Parkville College also sees the below as key responsibilities of the role:

- Provide and communicate accurate handovers when absent;
- Attend and participate in appropriate professional development, including professional learning communities and Supervision;
- Balance team and individual responsibilities; by ensuring that practice is underpinned and supports the Parkville College model;

- Comply with legislation and College policies, processes, and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, safety, and duty of care.
- Comply with confidentially protocols related to sensitive staff information.
- Undertake and comply with mandatory training and regulatory requirements as determined by the College
