The TOPS External Facilitator will receive training in readiness for the conduct of a major national event. As there are no fixed dates for these events, there may be a period between when you are trained and when you deliver TOPS training sessions.

The role will commence on a casual basis, with the requirement to convert to full-time hours for a period of four weeks before the event. There will also be periods where the work roster will include weekend work and/or period of overtime hours.

Our client is an independent statutory authority established by the Australian Federal Government.

**Description**

**Key position responsibilities**:

- Undertake online, self-directed, and virtual training ahead of the event in preparation for the delivery of training sessions for officials.
- Deliver face to face training sessions to officials in accordance with the supplied national training package and schedule.
- Liaise with relevant client staff in advance of the commencement of the delivery of the first training session and then throughout the delivery of the sessions.
- Collection of training materials from an identified location.
- Prepare and/or setup training venues in accordance with the national training package guidance, this may include transporting training materials and liaising with venue contacts.
- Work collaboratively with the SME to ensure participants benefit from their expertise and that key messages are delivered consistently and effectively in the training sessions.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the training session and the level of understanding attained by participants.
- Capture and communicate any concerns or issues to client staff following each training session.
- Complete and maintain all training records accurately.
- In conjunction with client staff, resolve any complaints or incidents in accordance with procedures, documenting incidents and outcomes.

**Profile**
- Extensive experience in facilitation and high-level facilitation skills.
- Ability to work with broad objectives and topic areas whilst still making the learning specific and relevant to the participants.
- Ability to include SMEs in the learning and draw out their expertise to maximise the learning for participants.
- Ability to learn on the go and link the learning for all participants to the objectives of the session.
- Availability at very short notice and the ability to work non-standard or extended hours including weekends under pressure in a highly agile and fast pace operational environment, taking ownership and responsibility for your own work.
- Proven ability to communicate and willingness to engage with diverse individuals and communities, and to be flexible and adaptable.
- Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative, policy and budget parameters.
- Ability to represent the client in a professional manner and work effectively as part of a team to support the efficient delivery of a major event.
